How Do Traditional Flares Work?

Traditional flares work by burning a mix of chemicals. You light them by striking the cap or pulling a tab, similar to a match. • If using multiple flares for an emergency, space them out in a line to make yourself more visible. When the flare burns out, let it cool completely before disposing of it.
